Reflection
I have completed all of Unit 2 up to the date, 25/12/19.
Our very first task in Unit 2 was to create a burger, hat, and a very simple face. With this being my first time with such a program, I feel like I did a good job and I believe adding the seeds on-top makes it look better. However, the gradient on the hat was quite difficult to understand and I am still learning the gradient tool to this day.
The task we were set in Unit 2 was to recreate images in Adobe Illustrator from a board of cartoon animals. I completed 3 images with varying difficulty to test my newly found skills in this program.
We were then tasked to outline a shoe of our choice in illustrator to further our skills with its tools. I completed this task quicker than most as I believed I had learned the pen tool well enough.
After the shoes, we got tasked with choosing 3 objects from our room to outline in illustrator. This surprisingly took a longer time than I thought but I was not alone as the entire class was slowed down by this. As a result I rushed one of the images to be finished with the class.
In my opinion, my work on the black history month face recreation was the worst thing I have created as I do not feel it looks good, aesthetically, in any way. However, I have never liked drawing or making faces or anything to do with the human body.
I liked my work on recreating our favourite ice lolly, much to the dislike of Simon as it did not feature the curved lines; I think it looks better without curved lines hence why I didn't add them.
Moving to Adobe Photoshop, my first time with it, we were told to create a wallpaper of some kind by using the paint bucket tool and using images to create a pattern. I soon found out that a very small image size would create a very trippy pattern. I used this to my advantage and it was a lot quicker than getting the dimensions right to line the images up for a clean pattern.
Nearing the end of Unit 2 so far, we were asked to create graphs in Illustrator with data given to us by the class from the homework we were set before; to collect data on how many hours of visual media we consumed per day. We input this data into a graph and we get a graph, which I made more colourful. We then were tasked to get more data about how healthy we were by how much fruit we consumed, sleep we had and exercise we did. This new found data was then put into different charts and graphs. I think I made a good choice with the line scatter graph. Furthermore, we then measured each other heights and put them into a creative way of representing data, something from out of the standard graphs. I chose to represent this data in outlines of humans and feel it was a good choice.
